We sell betting predictions. We want you to win, and we want you to keep betting โ but only for entertainment, and only with money you can afford to lose. This page is about how to do that.
Betting is not a way to make money. It is a form of paid entertainment, like going to the cinema or buying a drink. If it stops being entertaining, it's not working for you.
1. Warning signs
Problem gambling does not announce itself. It starts as a hobby, becomes a habit, and then becomes a need. Look for these signs in yourself (or in someone close to you):
Behavioural signs
- Betting more than you planned, or more often than you meant to
- Chasing losses โ staking more to "win back" what you lost
- Betting to escape boredom, stress, or sadness
- Hiding your betting from family or friends
- Borrowing money to bet
- Lying about how much you've staked or lost
- Selling possessions to fund betting
Financial signs
- Struggling to pay bills because of betting losses
- Missing loan or rent payments
- Using mobile-money advances or overdrafts to fund bets
- Not knowing how much you've actually spent on betting
Emotional signs
- Feeling anxious, irritable, or low when not betting
- Feeling depressed or hopeless after losses
- Betting as a way to feel normal or in control
- Sleep problems tied to betting
If you recognise two or more of these, you should take it seriously. Problem gambling responds to support, but early action matters.
2. If you need help now
If gambling is causing you harm โ or you are worried about someone else โ reach out. You are not the first person to face this, and support exists.
Free, confidential. Available during standard support hours.
Other options:
- Talk to your family or a trusted friend. Isolation makes problem gambling worse. Being open with people who care about you is a real step forward.
- Contact a counsellor or your local health centre. Many Kenyan health centres can refer you to mental-health or addiction support.
- Use self-exclusion on the bookmaker's site. SportPesa and other licensed bookmakers offer account closure and self-exclusion tools โ use them if you need to.
- Contact us if you want us to remove your number from our records: tips@sportswin.co.ke or WhatsApp +254 718 981 122.
3. Practical steps to stay in control
Set a monthly betting budget
Decide, in advance, the maximum amount you will spend on betting in a month. Write it down. Never exceed it, even if you feel "sure" about a match.
Never chase losses
The house edge means that trying to win back losses usually makes them bigger. Accept a loss and move on. If you can't do that, stop betting for a period.
Keep betting money separate
Use a separate wallet or M-Pesa balance for betting. When it runs out, you stop. Don't top it up from savings or bills.
Take breaks
Scheduled breaks โ a week, a month, longer โ break the habit loop and give you a clearer view of how betting is affecting your life.
Don't bet when you're emotional
Betting after a bad day, after drinking, or to "fix" a mood rarely ends well. Wait until you're settled.
Track your spending
Most people underestimate what they've spent on betting. Check your M-Pesa statement and add it up honestly. If the number surprises you, that's a signal.
4. Betting and young people
This service is strictly for adults 18 and over. If you are under 18, you cannot use the site, buy a slip, or place a bet in Kenya. If you know someone under 18 who is betting, please involve their parent or guardian.
5. Our stance
We are not a gambling operator โ we sell analysis, not bets. But we care about the people who use our service. That means:
- We do not use "guaranteed win" or "can't lose" language, because it's false.
- We publish our losing weeks alongside our wins.
- We do not offer credit, credit-line betting, or anything that lets you stake money you don't have.
- We will remove your number from our records if you ask us to.
